F/O Hird was a member of P/O Wright's Liberator crew. view details as a WAG. He was on the Squadron between August 1942 and March 1944. Thus he would have operated on the Liberator Mk.III - Fortress Mk.IIA and the Liberator Mk.V VLR..

According to the Australian National Archives, RAAF personnel records, he was born on 4th November 1914 in Balmain NSW and enlisted in Sydney.
