Little is known of F/O H.A. "Herb" Metcalfe at this time. He was an Australian WAG on the Squadron between Oct. 1943 and April 1945.

He was a member of F/L Ian Reekie's Liberator crew.

According to the Australian National Archives, RAAF personnel records, he was born on 11th October 1912 in Nambour Queensland and enlisted in Brisbane.
