Details:

The patrol area had just been left in the special area around 51.30N. 1300W at 1540 when what appeared to be a schnorkel snake was seen at 1630 position 53.38N, 10.47W. The evidence was so good that an attack was made but natural manifestations and the speed equivalent to the speed of the wind, at which the phenomenom was moving, convinced that the object of attack was a waterspout...
